Much like the misrepresentation of Twain’s actual quote (“The report of my death was an exaggeration”), the declaration of waxes’ demise in the age of ceramic coatings is likewise premature.
What is Wax?
Wax as a medium for vehicle protection has been around for quite a while and even in the age of ceramic coatings, it continues to evolve; some folks just like wax and the process of applying it and many prefer it for its depth & warmth compared to more modern synthetic chemistry. Life is all about trade-offs however and, in general, waxes will have less durability and resilience compared to modern synthetic sealants & coatings. Not that there’s anything wrong with that and in some cases, it may be preferred but nonetheless, it’s something to consider.
Waxes can be comprised of natural ingredients like carnauba (derived from the leaves of a type of palm tree) synthetic polymers or a combination of both. Regardless of composition, the goal remains the same: good looks and some measure of protection.
How to Apply Wax
For paste wax, liquid, or spray the application remains similar across the various types; apply to the surface and remove. In the case of paste and liquid waxes, a specific applicator is generally preferred while for spray waxes, spray a very small amount onto a soft, microfiber towel and then wipe on the surface to spread the product around thinly and evenly. After the proper interval buff off any residue with a clean microfiber towel or two.

A few years ago I drove my car from Maryland to your facility so you could put a Kamikaze coating on my Bright Red 92 Corvette ZR-1. Are you recommending using the Kamikaze Infinity wax on top of my coating? The car is a driver, stored in the garage and taken to weekly cars and coffee and road trips with our Corvette group. The coating has some micro scratches. Will the wax fill these in? Thanks Charlie

While waxes do indeed ‘fill’ to a certain degree it’s very minimal and would likely not produce much visible difference.
You could use the Infinity Wax on your car with no issues if you wished to add some extra ‘pop’, slickness & protection to the vehicle.
